I was looking at getting my first blu-ray player and then I noticed the asrock ion 330 computer with a Blu-Ray drive included. What I would like to know if this little machine is any good and whether I should steer away from a media PC or just plump for a plain blu-ray. Any tech wizzes out there?

Hubby has the one without the blu ray player but as a media pc he's very happy with it:j and he's a fussy beggar:D

My husband is the same, he has the non-Blu Ray one and absolutely loves it!

Well I think that has convinced me, thanks for all your replies. Now I have to work out where to buy it from and whether I need Windows 7 or should just go for Ubuntu for free.

Please bear in mind that it might have a Blu-ray player but that doesn't mean it plays HD disks on a telly.

I have bought the one with the blu ray player (and I am very happy with it) but I had to buy software in order to play blu-ray disks (PowerDVD) There may be other products that play the disks in HD but there is something about PowerDVD that uses something in hardware to improve the picture quality, otherwise you will get a stittering picture.

Do some research sand I think you will find I am correct.
