Splitting up-mortgage help

My partner has left me and myself and the children have remained in the jointly owned house. My partner is prepared to pay half the mortgage if we can change to interest only. I don't currently work so am hoping I will get mortgage support for my share when I claim income support.

The Woolwich have sent us a form to apply to change to interest only but obviously its asks for our financial circumstances which haven't actually chaged so should we be telling them we have split up hence asking to change to interst only or would this have no baring on there decision?

We have about 50% equity in the house and are on 10yr fixed deal and only a year into. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
