Advice wanted for non-English speaker

We are friends (of some two and a half years) of a Polish couple and their small son. They have little English (though rather more than we have Polish!) and have sought our help in finding a company prepared to lend them £500 to be repaid in six months. Can anyone recommend a course of application for them ? We're disabled pensioners with VERY limited experience of the internet and we'd be grateful for any useful information anyone can provide.

I don't know if you will be successful.
A word of advice though, if they cannot get the cash, do not be tempted to lend it to them yourself.0 -

Your kindness in responding is much appreciated.0 -
Most lenders would have a problem in letting someone who couldn't speak english enter into an english written loan agreement.
Ambulance chasers would be all over them like a rash trying to get the loan written off due to the (not unreasonable) assumption that allowing someone to enter into a contract they do not understand would be the basis of an unfair relationship.0 -
I would have thought that anyone who has been living here for 2 1/2 years should be able to speak the language by now. Something seems a little fishy here.0

I bet Spain is full of ex-pat Brits who have been there for years and still cannot speak a word of Spanish.0

Do you have a Polish Social Club/ Community Centre nearby? They may be able to offer further advice/ personal experience on the subject.Gone ... or have I?0

The likiehood of the bank/lender finding out they dont speak english is limited unless they do it face to face or over the telephone. However are they likely to be successful anyway.0
