Musty Dressing Gown

My fluffy dressing gown and my OH's toweling dressing gown smells musty when drying - bleugh!

My other clothes don't have this problem so what can it be?

They smell fine when they first come out.

My suggestion would be that towelling takes much longer to dry than normal thickness clothes - if there are particularly thick bits folded over - around the armholes for example - when its drying these can get musty as they dry off.

My thoughts exactly Ubamother - sounds like it is taking too long to dry. Maybe it's worth popping a radiator on or putting it on some direct heat! good luck!

Also, turn the pockets inside out and hang the dressing gown on a coat hanger or open it out over the dryer so that it is single thickness as far as possible.
Put the dryer in an unheated room and open the window, or hang the hanger from the curtain pole if it is strong enough, or if it is fine put it outside, even if it's just for a little while, because even if it doesn't finish drying an hour or two of fresh air will make it smell lovely.
