Lancombe and L'oreal

Does anyone know how much difference there is between Lancome and L'oreal for skincare apart from the price?
I know that L'oreal owns Lancome (or is that the other way around) but I don't know if Lancome is better or if there is not much difference in it.

Hi ya, i think the quality. Lancome is far better than L oreal, in skin care.
In make up i think the same principle apply with Channel and Borjouis ( same company), Mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadows are good buys from borjouis, not the rest. I have never used Channel myself but that's what i read in a magazine.
I have used Lancome lipsticks and i love them, the same with eyeshadows and their pencils and mascaras. I don't like much l'oreal quality.

They may work from the same company as many others, but they will use different forumlas and use different ideas to develop things, they do not have one set skin care ingredience for all companies! If you like Lancome, don't just switch to the bodyshop and assume its the same thing, its not! The reason they are owned by the same company is because L'Oreal has the most £££ and can pay for them to research, grow and develop. In return, L'Oreal take a slice of the profits, feeds this back into other L'Oreal brands and the entire company continues to grow whilst the profits continue to rise.

Its a massive company, it supports many brands and each brand is different in some way to the other, they don't work from the same labs just because they are owned by the same company. Its a bit like the Dragons Den with thier funding smaller people, or Gucci owning Alexander Mc Queen, Stella Mc Cartney, LV and many many other smaller designers. Gucci pay and fund them to design, but this means they take a cut from the profits, Gucci get money, the designers get funding, everyine is "happy".
