Many people don't know they can get a pension forecast and some don't know that they will still get a State Pension, even though they have an Occupational one.
So I think Ed's link is always relevant.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Another thing some people haven't realised is that there are 2 state pensions - the basic and the S2P.Some people's S2P will double the basic, which can make a very significant difference to their retirement finances.
The only way to find out about S2P (formerly known as SERPS) is to get a pension forecast.Trying to keep it simple...
