Claiming Pension back

Hi Sketchy details but asking for a friend who is without internet access, they paid a pension for eighteen months whilst working as a chef in Switzerland, they are aged thirty now, can they claim back this pension now or will they have to wait until retirement.

Unsure think it was a Swiss company as all the paperwork is in swiss, unable to check with him right now, but if it is a uk company can he claim it and if so how. Many thanks0
