Can I return gift to Boots without reciept?

I have been bought a light up mirror from Boots as
a gift. I already have one so want to return it to the store and I do not want to ask the person who gave it ot me for the receipt. Will I be able to return to Boots and will I get be able to get a gift card in return? Many thanks

I have exchanged things before with no receipt (toys) so shouldn't be a problem!0

I have a Dora mega blocks toy bought from boots with no reciept,would they exchange this or do they only do it with their own brand toys.
