Where did you get her from? A rescue should neuter dogs before they release them or give you a voucher.0

We got the dog from a friend,(she could not have the dog anymore we decided to take her as we knew the dog,) I just want to do the right thing for the dog Thanks.0

Dogs Trust used to operate a scheme in conjunction with some vets whereby people on income based benefits could get their dog neutered for around £10. If you are in receipt of benefits, it might be worth ringing some vets in your area or the Dogs Trust to see if this is still available.0

A run of the mill vet will want the going price, wont be interested in your personal situation.
You need to ring round places like the Blue Cross, RSPCA and PDSA and local rescues. Normally they have vouchers for inner city areas but you seem to not live in that sort of place! But you may be lucky.
Very good luck with it and do go ahead and have her neutered, it is the right thing as you say. And also look at insuring her too as vets bills are enormous.0 -

If you're in reciept of Housing Benifit & can supply a letter from NIHE no older than 6 months old,the PDSA up the Antrim Rd in Belfast will do 'it' for a small donation.
A lot of vet's will allow you to pay it off in instalments, mine did with Orbit.
Try Glenn Vetrinary Clinic in Bangor, they're my new vet as treat the animals from the Assisi. They're behind the Flagship center, accross from Sammy Mellon's garage.Their number is 028914539990 -

Voucher Scheme to Support Borough’s Four-Legged Friends
03 March 2008
North Down residents are being offered free or reduced neutering/spaying for their dogs by the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust, in partnership with North Down Borough Council.
Via vouchers available from the Town Hall in Bangor, dog owners on means tested benefits can get their dogs spayed or neutered for free. Council Enforcement Officers also have a number of vouchers available that entitle the bearer to access the spaying/neutering operation for just £15 (the standard cost is between £70-90 depending on the size of the dog). These are available to any local dog owner.
Ronnie Milsop, Dogs Trust Campaigns Manager for Northern Ireland, is delighted to be able to make these offers available to dog owners in North Down and comments: “The most effective and humane way of reducing stray dog numbers in the long term is through neutering. It is a simple procedure that offers significant health benefits for dogs. Neutering can help protect against certain types of cancer, such as womb cancer in !!!!!es and testicular cancer in males. Having a !!!!! spayed will put an end to packs of dogs following her around in season and it can stop male dogs from wandering off looking for romance! Most importantly it prevents unwanted litters of puppies.”
Assistant Borough Inspector with North Down Borough Council, Glenn Thomas, is keen that local dog owners take advantage of these offers and comments: “This is a very positive initiative and we would like to thank Dogs Trust for making these vouchers available in North Down. I would strongly encourage local dog owners who have not yet had their pets spayed or neutered to make contact with the Council and take up the offer appropriate to them. Having your dog spayed or neutered is an important part of being a responsible dog owner.”
Vouchers for free or £15 neutering/spaying can be collected from the Town Hall in Bangor. For free vouchers proof of being on mean tested benefits must be provided. Proof of address will be required in all cases.
For further information please contact North Down Borough Council’s Enforcement Section on (028) 9127 0371.
