Denied online bank with Barclays because of IVA!

For the last week I've been applying for online banking with my Barclays Visa account and been turned down 7 times (they kept saying it was because my address had changed and it was a security issue). After dozens of calls and 3 trips to my branch they've finally told me it's because of my IVA
I've always had online banking with previous accounts I can't live without it and I don't understand what their reasoning behind this would be
Has anyone else had this problem?

I would have thought it was better to have online banking if you have had past issues with debt so you can check your accounts 24 hours a day!!
Crazy!0 -
You can have on line banking with the Coop Cashminder account, don`t know if this helps you or not?:pB&SC No. 298

I actually had a Coop Cashminder beforehand but they closed it when BT incorrectly tried to take a payment before the 1st of the month not once but twice! Coop were so rude about it and said they'd only reopen the account if I got BT to write a letter of apology to them!0 -

Crazy!
That's what I tried to explain to them! I used to log onto my account at least 5 times a day, I always knew what was going on.
It's so frustrating they won't listen0 -

We are having troubles with BT at the moment, they actually owe us money, but getting it out of them is not easy!
I hope you get it sorted out.0 -

I had this problem for my mother, it took me numerous phone calls before I had any joy with them, so good luck and keep pestering them..:pB&SC No. 298

I have used the Coop as a "normal bank account", without being a debtor, for well over 20 years.
I use all their services, I have a cheque book, a debit card, telephone banking, online banking. I have always found all of their services 100% brilliant, easy to use, straight forward.
In the past 2 years I have obtained some Barclays accounts. I have four of those. I have a current account, savings account and two ISAs. I find their systems annoying and confusing and I can never seem to log on... which results in me having to phone their support and get a new password etc issued every time, which (by the time it arrives) is past the moment when I wanted to do something.
Go with the Coop. Lovely bank.0 -

could it be attributed to the TYPE of bank account?
Others have posted on here that Barclays are allowing internet banking facilities to BR's who open basic bank accounts with them..
I always used to get direct debits re-positioned in the month..[in thedays when I wasn't bothered about the system]....away from the 1st....usually timed for the middle..then if some jerk of a service provider got a bit previous it wouldn't matter too much...
methinks BT are a-struggling??No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0
