Hello
I am just about to start a new company where I will be a 20% shareholder. I will not be getting a salary for the first four months. Is any income support or similar available to someone in this situation?
Thanks in advance

You can apply for tax credits , just give them your as good as estimate of your wages as possible and they'll work the figure out . Even though you suplly the 06/07 estimated income, if its not more than £25K higher than 05/06 income, they'll use the 05/06 yrs income to pay you your tax credits.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
