Vodafone Chasing 7 Year old bill! What to do!

  • Quick question... how was the debt paid? By cheque? EFT? If it's either, try to see if the bank still has any records from six years ago (for the time period in which you made those two payments). Then shove that under the noses of the DCA who harrass you.

forget it. they can't chase you for it.

if you can prove you paid it then do so. if not just bin their letters. check your credit file too - if it appears on there you might want to do something about it and if not then whats the problem?

forgot to say that your bank will still have records of your transactions (i think they keep them for 10 years but you will have to contact the bank)

Many thanks for all your replies.

I am writing a letter to both vodafone and the debt agency as i am 100percent sure i paid the bill all that time ago and this must be a mistake. Why on earth would vodafone of given me two further contracts if there was still money outstanding from a previous contract!

Vodafone are saying they have no details as it is over six years old, one customer service rep told me he would write the debt collection agency a letter to cancel it, But when i rung back nothing had been done and now they say they cant do that because they dont have the details!

This is doing my head in now.

    Thanks for your help:beer:
