Firstplus Court hearing set
Hi,
Just wondered if anyone had any advice or had gone through the same thing.
The situation is that a court hearing is set for Monday 7th December, by Eversheds on behalf of Firstplus to repossess our house.
At the moment my husband is not working, due to being laid off from his work.
The monthly payments to Firstplus are £410.11 per month, we are in arrears of £2870.77. Loan amount £40000.
The mortgage and its arrears are being paid for by the benefits payments.
The problem we have is that we have no money, or very little to pay firstplus each month. Most forums on stopping Firstplus are by people who can afford to make their monthly payments and a bit extra on top, but we can't even do this.
We have been to housing associations who do not take us seriously as they think the repossession will not happen, but i don't believe that is true. I really don't believe that they will leave us in the house if we can't afford to pay them. We have a 19mths old child and i know that they consider this as our fault, but i can't believe they will not even consider housing us, except for MAYBE a B & B and how do we stay there and feed a toddler!
Am i right in thinking that they may give us more than 28 days to vacate the property?
And i am right in thinking Firstplus will get possession?
Any advice would be gratefully accepted.
Jackie

are you working?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

No I'm not working. I wanted to stay at home to be with our child. No family nearby for childcare.

Hiya
I have been in your position (not with same mortgage people) and I was so worried! I went to CAB and they offered to come with us to hearing and they did all the talking we just sat there! The courts just gave us more time! Please try not to worry believe me there there was a queue before us and a queue behind us all in the same boat
xx

Is your house up for sale? If not perhaps you need to consider trying to get a quick sale. You say that the DWP are paying the interest and the arrears? What do you mean by this?
I appreciate that you want to stay at home with your little one but surely desperate times call for desperate measures, you could always give it up again when your husband successfully gets work."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

Hi, Our house isn't up for sale, we wouldn't get enough money to pay off the mortgage and Firstplus.
I would love to go out and get a job, but on adding it all up, (including the mortgage/council tax payments) we would be getting less money than what we are getting now. It would only work if i was one of them people that could command a well paid job. Sadly i am not.0 -
Sorry no advice but best wishes to you.Nice to save.0
