Hiya,
I have an engagement ring to sell, its not a vastly expensive thing but now my ex is married I feel it will bring closure to the whole thing.
I have tried the ring on ebay but no real interest.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks

You could go to your nearest big city and try second hand jewellers or Cash Converters. Try yellow pages on line for their phone number and location. You don't have to take their offer if you feel that it is too low.
You will need to take several forms of I.D. with you.0 -
For what it's worth, I took mine to several jewellers and the most I got offered was £70 - the ring cost over £500.
Maybe cash converters worth a go, never thought of that...Barclaycard 0% - [STRIKE]£1688.37 [/STRIKE] Paid off 10.06.120 -
The gold will only bring scrap value which will be very little and any stone will hardly make any money either unless serious quality.
Cash Converters will probably offer scrap as well but why not call them to see.
I reckon you'd get the most out of a second hand shop which has some jewellery but be prepared to accept that most of the £500 paid was profit and not value and thus, you'll get little back.
A final idea might be an advert on gumtree.com or in the local paper.0 -
My experience of buying rings 2nd hand (for myself, not for resale), has been that I pay about 20% of the new price. And that was in "the good years".0
