Discounted baby items help needed please

Hi all
I am assisting a pregnant woman (as a doula - yes she persuaded me out of retirement, fancy that!:rotfl:). She asked me whether I know of anywhere she can buy new baby things (cot, all-singing, all-dancing buggy/pram) at a discount, or also second hand but in good conditions.
Not really the OS type so any homemade contraptions (slings etc) or "truly well used" stuff would be of no use (otherwise I would have suggested charity shops, NCT sales etc.) and she is already looking at Ebay.
I seem to remember that someone had posted a link about a web-based discount baby shop somewhere in the forum, but cannot find it.
Any help is gratefully received. Thanks in advance,
Caterina x

https://www.kiddicare.com is good for cheap price, good range and new
ebay you can get some new stuff on there, but would be wary of buying a 2nd hand pram unless it looks to be in really top nick
local gumtree and netmums nearly new boards mean she can inspect before purchase
if she volunteers for NCT sale, she may be able to pick up a real bargain, and get the chance to inspect before purchase. Not everything is dire!
She may have a dedicated nearly new baby shop nearby too - a list around UK was put together on MSE a while back

Thanks a million blyromarha, I shall pass her the info. I don't think that she would want to volunteer for a NCT sale, but I can propose this too, then it is up to her.

I don't know if your lady would feel up to travelling so far, but there is a very good shop in Rochester High Street which sells secondhand baby clothes, equipment and toys in what looks to be new or nearly new condition. So sorry but I can't remember the name of the shop, but it's towards the end of the High Street that's nearer to the staion, if that makes sense.0

Thank you Ivyleaf, I shall let her know. I am not sure whether she would go but it will be useful for her to know about it.

The quality of NCT sale stuff is usually extremely high, actually. I used to help with a lot of these sales and we had strict instructions to reject anything old, tatty or dangerous. And when I was last there we also insisted on instructions for things like buggies.
As to clothes, the clothes are usually high quality as well, especially in the newborn/small sizes where they barely get worn.
So tell her not to reject these sales out of hand. You don't have to volunteer to help, btw, though generally helpers do get first pick. Only fair if they're giving up a whole day of their time! But there's always lots and lots of stuff at these sales for everyone.Val.0
