  • Mine too has also perished today, must be a bad day for Microwaves lol. Hope you get one sorted soon, the cheapest I have seen is the £29.96 one from Tesco. If I find one cheaper anywhere I will post.

I took a look instore on friday in Sainsburys, prices now much lower then the £35 mark for 700w.

In the end I went for the Prestige one in Comet, for £39.99. Its 700w, Down from £80 apparently. Am planning on using and abusing it (as with my last one! which had been the best going Panasonic version, only 2.5 years old, 1000watts. I basicly LIVE from my microwave as I have no over/cooker/hob) then take this one back when it breaks down in its 1 year warrenty.

Decided this one looked the most likely to break, know it sounds odd but am thinking of the January sales and things of a higher value being reduced to this sort of price or less. This microwave was in the sale/reduced now so they may have sold out of it completely by the time I need a new one and so I should in theory be able to pick up a better model when this one has broken!
  • Whatever you buy DONT get an LG!! Bought mine from Sainsburys 16 months ago, now its broken- and if you type in broken microwave on Google guess what comes up, a whole list of posts by people who have the same problem, with LG! Apparently LG does not stand for life's good, it is an american firm who used to be called Goldstar (rubbish) and are now called Liquid Goldstar(still rubbish). Avoid at all costs!
