Your best bet will be at a computer fair if you dont mind refurb with about 3 month warranty. Otherwise, try your local PC World instore to see if they have any ex-demo models with no box or parts missing, but still come with full warranty.
I remember seeing a Proview 17" around new years time for £199.0 -
Hi SPL
I received an email this morning from https://www.microdirect.co.uk which advertised a 17 inch TFT monitor for £199.69 inc VAT. It says its a Samung OEM and the stock code is MON17MDTFTMMBK. I could not find it on the website so maybe its best to phone and enquire 0870 4444 456.

The other source for cheap branded TFTs is ebuyer where they can be bought for under £220.

Update.
On the microdirect site - check the offers page for daily deals. Thats where the TFT is shown for today anyway.0 -
Cheers guys. Much appreciated.0

I'm suprised nobody mentionned http://www.aria.co.uk/ (I found it on this site!) hows about £138.65 inc. VAT (plus delivery) for a 17" TFT....I got one about 2 months ago...can't imagine I could tell any difference between this one and one you could pay three times the price for (the only thing to watch out for is that they are not all wall mountable!). Good luck!!
Check out: http://www.aria.co.uk/specials.asp
(17" TFT about half down the page and a 19" TFT for under £200 slightly further down!!)0 -
If they've got any left try ALDI.

I've used Novatech for other parts before and they seem quite good.

Don't know what their own brand monitors are like but prices seem resonable.Nil Illegitimi desperandum carborundum
