Its £510 each if you don't qualify for any help with the fees. So not as bad as £1800!0

Last time we looked I was sure I saw that there was a £500 up front fee when you applied and another £400 later on...I've never been so glad to be wrong, thanks guys ;-):jTime to start living again :j

Oh I almost forgot (promise this is the last q for tonight!) We have a joint smile account that is overdrawn and will be included in the br if possible. We are now using a basic yorkshire account (although it does have a maestro card there is no od allowed with it), will that be suitable? Ive heard a lot of people talk about co op and barclays cash only being a good idea, but I owe barclaycard £2000 and SMILE (part of co op) £700 so neither are suitable for us.:jTime to start living again :j

Barclays will usually open a basic account for you even if you were a creditor so give them a try. If you open it before BR make sure you don't have money in it until after BR because they can offset that against anything you owe them.

I haven't gone BR yet but I was advised by CCCS to not pay the outstanding on my electricity account (no gas) and perhaps switch companies, effectively and deliberately pushing the outstanding debt into the BR.
From what I see, the whole switching of suppliers takes months and you can get away with not paying for some considerable time.0
