Afternoon
I love lidls 1.5 ltr cartons of fruit juice..in particular the '12 fruit' one but are they good for you...was thinking they must be with all that fruit in and at 89p i think is good value for money??
Also..i think i already know the answer to this question but in this heat my brains not working....what does 'made from concentrate' mean??
So sorry to be thick but bet im not the only one wondering!?

I think it means that all the water is extracted to make the 'concentrate' and then it is rehydrated by replacing the water when packaged. I think it's to save on transportation costs???
I expect someone will know for sure.

This is my understanding too. I'm sure I read somewhere that as most of the fruits are grown overseas, the juice is dehydrated to concentrate and then rehydrated to cut down on transport costs (as above) which considering the number of 'food miles' it has to travel can only be a good thing ecologically.

Absolutely correct,
And yes, great news for the environment, unlike tetra-pak. I only ever buy "from concentrate" for this reason:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

What's the sugar content, out of interest? I presume juices are sweet due to the naturally found sugars.

Oooh, have you tried the orange juice in the glass bottles? It's delish and only about 50p for a big bottle.Just run, run and keep on running!0

I often buy the orange and the apple concentrate juices for my childrens packed lunches (the 5 pack, packs for 89p) handy sizes and pure juice so better for them than the ones with sugar in!0
