Hotels in Coleraine area

I have a son who is due to graduate in July from the University of Ulster in Coleraine. We want to spend the night before, July 2, in the area as it is too far to travel on the Monday morning as he has to be there by 9.30.

Has anyone any suggestions as to good value accomodation in the area for 4 people for one night.

many thanks

Try ringing the University's accommodation office as they usually make on-campus student halls available for a stay. 2 fellow graduates and myself stayed there when we graduated in 1999. However I doubt very much if the double room option is available if that's what you're looking for.

I've heard good reports on the York Hotel in Portstewart and the Comfort Hotel in Portrush - all within 5-10 minutes drive from the university. I've stayed in Cul Erg B&B in Portstewart and would highly recommend it.

Theres the Lodge Hotel in Coleraine. Their Sunday night rates are pretty reasonable too. Ive never actually stayed there before but I know people that have and Ive never heard anything bad about it. Been to the restaurant a fair few times over the years though and its always been lovely.

  • I've stayed at the Lodge Hotel. Large rooms, clean and comfortable, and value for money.
