missk_ensington wrote:Its a bit naughty, but when you have nights out, sneak a 1/4 bottle of cheap vodka into your handbag for when you get to a club. Its about £4 in Asda and lasts all night! I've done it from time to time when I've been super skint!
A lot of places ask to search your bag nowadays though, but good idea!

is that you in that avatar pic miss england lol0

You could crotch it! lol I've never been asked to have my bag searched?!! I'd say No and if they ask why not, I'd say because I have a vibrator in there!!!! The worst they can do is refuse entry until you let them search.
Or you could smoke rollies!!? Yak, I couldn't do it, but it works for some people. Someone said a huge bag of tobacco is loads cheaper.0 -
or try and stop drinking altogether, it is actually possible to have a good night out without alcohol!
I think peeps become a bit too reliant and they lose their natural social skills. Learn to lighten up and have fun naturally. Not only cheaper, but safer, better for your health, and no hangovers...!
As others say above, an attitude shift is required so that you start enjoying saving more than spending, im fortunate in that I learnt that lesson at the age of about 6 thanks to a money box that counted my money. I loved getting it full and that was more rewarding than anything else. Spending it was just depressing as it made the goal further away! These days I just have to ensure I have more money at the end of a month than when I started lol!Debt: a bloomin big mortgage
all posts are made for entertainment value only, nothing I say should be taken as making any sense and should really be ignored0 -
ha ha ha the vodka is a good idea but I would have to drink it before I went out which defets the object. Every club here searches bags and stuff!
I could do with one of those money boxes now i think ha ha0 -
yeh man i agree i actually go to cluibs with my mate and drink water, its called the "water flex" its funny watchign everyone get drunk and do what they gota do while we pic up the pretty drunk girls lol0

Welcome Purple!
I've lived with people I didn't like before, and it's a nightmare. I don't know your circumstances, but you've probably got a one month break clause in your rental contract - hand in your notice, get Loot/look at local ads in the newspaper shop window and get moving! Perhaps you could live with some of your friends, or maybe they know someone who's looking to share?
I agree with Homer - tell your friends your a bit skint (I'm sure they'll be able to sympathise) and they won't expect you to get drinks in all the time. One way of saving money in the pub is not to get involved in rounds - you always end up drinking as fast as the fastest person in the group, and there's always someone who doesn't buy as many drinks as you!
I'm new to this too, but I've found posting on here (budgets, debts, what I plan to spend) is helping me to stick to my goals - I'm terrified of having to tell everyone I've cocked up!
As for alternative activities - once you've moved out, you can invite friends round for dinner - everyone could bring a dish, or you could rotate who's house you go to. Wine and beer from the offie is much cheaper. My friends always do tons of picnics/bbqs in the summer. I also do voluntary work one night a week - it's hugely rewarding, good for your CV, I've made tons of new friends and even found my boyf there! All at the cost of 0p! Try www.timebank.org.uk to find local opportunities.
Good Luck:D0 -
don't worry if you do- there lots of postings where people have overspent- not met goals etc. just put it behind you, learn (if possible) from experience & start againI'm new to this too, but I've found posting on here (budgets, debts, what I plan to spend) is helping me to stick to my goals - I'm terrified of having to tell everyone I've cocked up!0
