Cleaning carpets

Options
We are about to move out of our rented flat and have noticed a few stains on the cream carpet.

I've managed to get hair dye (brown semipermanant) in a few spots and there are a few other grubby bits that could do with a spruce up.

Anybody got any OS tips for me?

Thanks to the OS boards I've recently discovered Stardrops - magical stuff!! You can get it from sainsburys/savers/wilkinsons/morrisons (REALLY cheap about 60p) and it you dilute a couple of drops in water and use a microfibre cloth, I've found that this gets SO many stains out. I had a blusher stain (complete butter-fingers moment) on my cream carpet which wouldn't shift, Stardrops lifted it right out.
    Good luck!!
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch...:D

Have given the old Stardrops and microfibre cloth duo. The stain has been lifted slightly but its still there. Any further tips?

Thanks Waterlilyann, there is a big blusher stain on my bedroom carpet which I inherited when I moved in so I'll see if Stardrops and a microfibre cloth will zap that. Prob been there too long though.
