Anyone a Mobile Spray Tanner?

I am currently on Maternity leave and looking at my options. I would really like a little sideline job and have been thinking about mobile spray tanning, probabaly continuing to do this in the evenings when I return to work or maybe even doing it full time if I am doing well.
I have found some training courses:
http://www.tanprofessionals.com/spray-tan-training.php
and starter kits online:
http://www.spraytansupermarket.com/spray-tanning-kit-turbine-hvlp-kit.html?PHPSESSID=86d8fa8848e090e056dce2989316bcfc
Are these what I need to be buying? are there cheaper? is this the right course? I am currently in online marketing for e-commerce sites, so marketing wouldn't be a problem for me
Anyone got any good tips for me?

Hi Cleopatra,
I have been doing Spray tans mobile for about 6 months now and love it! It is a great job and also gets you out and about meeting people.
I did my training with this company https://www.wowproducts.com. It is a company called Tantrick and they are one of the market leaders in the Spray tan market, cant recommend them highly enough.
For your starter kit, I would recommend looking for one that has the HVLP 5008 machine in it as this is the best machine on the market. If you can please try and stay away from Ebay when purchasing a machine as a lot on there are fake and dont work as well or for as long.
For your starter kit you would need machine, tent, tanning solution, disposables (gstrings, hairnets, gloves etc), towels. You can add to your kit as you go.
Any more questions, just ask or feel free to PM me, im on here most days.
Hope this helps0 -
Hi, I am a huge fake tan fan but not a professional, however, I use pro products but I apply a spray tan solution with a tanning mitt, now this works out brilliantly for me, its convenient and saves me a fortune because I like to be really dark. I believe that this will be the way to go in the future, as do the company I get my products from, they are developing a new product especially for this method, why not get in there first? You could offer a bespoke service, charge less than operators with an airbrush machine and you will still earn loads because you use considerably less product and no or hardly any equipment to buy upfront, the only down side I can see with this is would you really want to apply fake tan by hand to someone else? Of course you would wear gloves and use the mitt but its your call;) I'm not convinced you would need training either, I learnt a huge amount from forums and I have good communication with the company I buy from, I can probably answer most questions you would have and I am happy to do so:)
The company I use is http://www.siennasol.co.uk/ its a nice site anyway and also has details of courses and machines, just in case there is any confusion I am not connected with them in anyway, just a satisfied customer:)
Have a read of this thread, its very long but really very informative if you can get through it http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1621869&highlight=
hth - best of luck:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

hi i have been spray tanning for 18 months now and it's a real struggle to get customers.I know it depends where you live, although where I live is an affluent area it's still hard going.I personally think theres no-way you could do this job full time but its ok as a bit extra.I know a lady who is really busy and has been doing it for a long time and she still couldn't give her full time job up.It's a lot of fun though and I too love doing it.I'm also a qualified beauty, holistic therapist so I can offer more.I would have a good serious think before buying the kit.I would have not have bothered if I had known it would be this quiet.0

Do you have public liability insurance and product liability insurance ?You also need to tell your car insurance company if you are using your car for a business.0

Sorry Cleopatra my mistake, try wowproducts.co.uk. That should work.
With regards to money, yes I am as I also do nails and eyelash extentions, so when one is quiet I usually get work for another. I would advise if you are going to do this to offer a few things, it keeps the money coming in.0 -

Thanks for insight. I thought I would do a little research on my area last night via web and suprisingly there was no sites promoting the business, people were generally just listing themselves (yell.com etc) I know when I look for this type of service, I would firstly look at all the businesses with websites listed (for prices, opening times, location, products etc etc) I could build a small site for myself and could do PPC and SEO. I suppose I can only try, but I am sure like you say, it will just be a sideline business for myself.Best Comp wins[/B]: , Holiday to Las Vegas worth £3K, £200 shoes, £130 ASOS voucher, £150 River Island Voucher, £100 Toni & Guy Voucher, £250 Red Letter Day Voucher, Holiday to NYC[/COLOR]0 -

My daughter has been doing mobile spray tanning for quite a while. As she was doing so well, she gave up her part-time job to concentrate on the tanning.
She had become so busy that she was working most evenings and weekends following work. It was becoming too much, and her partner and her decided that she could afford to finish her part-time job.
She does parties and children's dancing groups, and even at quiet times she is receiving more money than when working for salary.
A couple of weeks ago she was on our local radio station, spray-tanning the presenter. Fame at last!
Good luck0
