Hen do questions

Yeah, unfortunately my attempts to rein in the costs have fallen flat - despite mine and another girl's objections, the limo has now been hired...I'm now concentrating on more personal touches. Thank you all for your fab ideas - it's funny that you suggested the Mr and Mrs quiz, ClaireN75, as another of my friends had come up with that. We're planning on quizzing her husband-to-be, and then giving her a little gift for every question she gets right (figuring there'll be drinking a-plenty throughout the evening and we want to be not too hungover to enjoy the spa the next day!).
Thanks again for all your help - I'd love to hear any more ideas!0 -
I am loving the sleepover ideas. My MOH will have a 4 month old baby by the time I have my hen night so I am thinking she isn't going to plan anything 'overnight' as she will be breastfeeding. Never mind hey!!
Mr and Mrs quiz is a fab idea too!:love:Married the man of my dreams on 12/06/100 -
At my friend's hen do; the chief bridesmaid had organised (with the bride's sister) lots of photos of the bride through the years - from 0 to now! She then made a collage of the photos and laminated them, and persuaded the restaurant to allow her to use them as tablemats. They went down a treat! (it wasn't too expensive to do, she later told me).0

at a fab hen do this summer we had drinks at the brides sisters place before heading out. She had asked friends to email photos of the bride and put them up all round the flat which looked fab. I made place cards for each of the hens which had questions on about the bride. I used questions I knew would get funny answers and got extra ammo from her Mum! We each read one out, one at a time, while waiting for dinner and everyone joined in guessing the answers.
We played a game at a hen do a few years ago where we each wrote down an embarrassing or funny secret (anonymously) and took it in turns to pick one out of the hat and read it out. The bride had to guess which hen each secret belonged to. We spiced things up by writing down some extras - silly stories about the bride herself, so she would listen to a story about some drunken antic and realise half way through it was something she had done!
Things like this are cheap to do and are great for bonding the hens!fran-o0 -
for my friends "do" we got the train to scarborough, only about 30-40 mins from york. one of the hens made huge bottles of pimms and smoked salmon bagels. we had party bags with lots of fun things.
her sister negotiated a really good deal on a very nice hotel (yes, there is a few in scarborough lol). we went on a little pub crawl and did karaoke then back to the hotel to freshen up and get into our police outfits then an italian meal. next day back to york and a curry. her sister made us all photobooks
we had a lovely time and not too expensive as non of us could afford it to be
i have known hen dos come in at well over £500 each - what a complete joke!'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0
