No not discharged. I am thinking of starting back in business in a few weeks, but I have been playing with the SOA calculator and am a little
My OH owns a car, that I drive now and again. Do I include the car and associated costs on the SOA? My OH had nothing to do with my downfall. What I suppose I am saying is " Does the SOA for an IPA cover all household income ( not including my lad's) including the OH?
I am a little apprehensive about starting up again in having to deal with the OR, accountants and so forth. I suppose I don't want to rock the boat, but with no sign of an ED 9 months after B day, I need to do something. The problem I have is, that due to poor health (eyes) I may have to go part time with the business for good, making me think "is it worth the hassle" or shall I just hang on and hope for an ED or sit out the sentence?

What I suppose I am saying is " Does the SOA for an IPA cover all household income ( not including my lad'syou would need to add that) including the OH?No when you fill in a new IPOQ you would put all household bill totals, then your own personal expenditure.

If you do not add your sons contribution then you would not be able to claim any extra allowances for him and seeing not many kids pay the true cost you may end up out of pocket. In my view i would leave it and bide your time...you have got this far, why not wait another 12 wks until you are really free;).

Thanks Dalip. My lad is on JSA as am I ( at the moment) It's just I am raring to get back to business but like you said ( and the accountant) " I should bide my time". I feel like I am stuck in some sort of netherworld. I feel ok most of the time, but I have an itchy trigger finger. I have my band, although we are not ready for gigs yet. That kept me busy starting it up and organising stuff but I need something new to do as the band is just one bit of the jigsaw, at the moment all is in place apart from me earning some cash and getting back into the ruff and tumble of " risk taking".
Ah well I suppose I am better off than some people.;)Better to be poor than a slave to wealth

HOS it has taken me 2 years to feel comfortable with where i am now. Do you not think that impatience is what got us here in the first place;)
I felt like you too...often felt worse than before bc but i have learnt that "patience is a virtue"....an i got there eventually...still not out of the woods but we are getting there. Keep doing what you are doing..but do not expect life to be "normal" for a while yet, still early days.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Hoos, I agree with Dalip - bide your time for the remaining 3 months - it'll come quicker than you think. Is that the only reason you are thinking of doing a new SOA or have your circumstances already changed?

No FYP, they have not changed. It's just me thinking about how much I can earn and stuff. I am in a position to start earning again. What would happen if I did 16 hours per week, still signed on as I am entitled to. Would the OR have to be informed? What I mean is technically I would be still on JSA, of course I would be self employed so the tax man would have to be informed.

Will your earnings be enough to start an IPA?

Hi FYP. I very much doubt they would. Would the OR take the lad's income ( JSA) into consideration when looking at an IPA? The DWP are hassling me about work, however after just visiting the eye consultant she thinks I may not be able to work full time due to my conditions and indeed would be limited in which work I could do.
Regarding the lad's benefits, I thought the OR disregarded benefits in an IPA calculation, after all he has played no part in my BR.Better to be poor than a slave to wealth

I think if you include your son in housekeeping etc then you need to put some contribution down for him. For example if you increased your housekeeping by £200 to include him then put his contribution down as £200 so it evens itself out. BTW I have no idea how much he gets in JSA - if it is even £200 but he will need his own money for travel expenses, mobile etc to service so he wouldn't be expected to contribute much.
