Tesco network mobile phones - 1000 points

Hope this hasn't been posted before but thought this was quite a good deal. Tesco are offering 1000 points on some of their network phones over £50. I've just purchased the tocca lite for my son for £69 (free delivery if picked up in store) - not the cheapest but got 1139 points which works out at over £45 in clubcard deals:j so could say I got the phone for £24.

Does anyone know if these phones can be used with o2? I believe Tesco and O2 used to be part of the same.

Are these phones locked to just Tesco network. I am on Virgin, would my sim work in a Tesco phone if it is one Virgin sell too?

Hi, the handset and network are two seperate things, two companies may sell the same phone, but they could be locked to the individual network (e.g. Tesco Mobile Nokia's are locked to Tesco Mobile so they would only work with Tesco Mobile.) Majority of PAYG phones are locked to the networks they are sold on.
So, the answer is it is unlikely a Tesco PAYG handset will work with a Virgin Sim sorry!

Sorry to be thick but can anyone tell me which handsets that Tesco offer are easily unlocked? I would like to get one but don't want to use their network, and I note that the Nokias can't be unlocked by code.

You think your thick I dont even know what a network phone is.Is it one you use with computer?

In store they are doing a promotion -When you spend £40 on shopping you can get £20 off certain phones that are over £50 - I think some have £10 off then on the shelf as well, so you could get £30 off.
