Selling Endowment

I'm looking to get some quotes with a view to selling my Friends Provident endowment policy. I'm going to try APMM (http://www.apmm.org/) and Baronworth (http://www.baronworth.co.uk/selling-endowments.htm). The latter apparently trawl the market and contact nearly all the market makers but I'm wondering whether I should be contacting more to get the possible price.

Has anyone any advice or can recommend any other company to contact?

Thanks

APPM should cover those currently still in action (not many).
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

Thanks EdInvestor. Was concerned I might be missing some decent offers given the amount of websites that come up in Google re selling endowments. If you're telling me that all these companies only approach the same half dozen market makers that belong to APMM, then that's good enough for me.

Nobody out there sold an endowment recently?
  • Firsat of all I take it is invested in the With Profits fund? If not then they will not buy it.

PolicyPlus also offer to buy policies. Some of the Market Makers offer them for sale on their sales lists and they will sometimes offer you the best price but it is a indication and not the final actual purchase price you get. I have seen some take weeks to sell in this way so ensure it is an actual purchase from one of these companies.

    Good luck
    Val :)

A lot of FP plans are unitised with profits. So the OP needs to verify this.

It's a With Profits policy - not unitised. Most of the underlying investment of the fund is in fixed interest products, so there's no value in keeping it. I'd get more putting the surrender value and monthly premiums in a decent interest paying account and I have no need for the life assurance.

PolicyPlus also offer to buy policies.

PolicyPlus is one of the members of the APMM and should be covered by their quote.

I received an emailed offer from APMM (about £300 more than FP's surrender value) in less than 24 hours. I'd give them another call or complete the online form again if I were you.
