Asking Barclays for a payment break?
Im off sick with tonsilitis and my work doesnt pay full sickpay just the minimal statuatory, im worried as is last payday before christmas and i asked my bank if i could add 500 to my existing loan they said no. Ive never missed a payment and so am annoyed and been paying for over 3 and half years.
If i now ask for a 2mth break from repayments are they likely to agree or will it make matters worse~?

You will be better off to get an overdraft increase. I believe that missed payments (even if agreed) can go on your credit file. Surely tonsilitis is only about a week off sick, if that.0

Two months?! Tonsillitis shouldn't keep you off that long surely? How long are you going to be off for? If someone told me they'll be off for two months with that I'd be highly suspicious!0

One week off sick does not really justify a two month payment holiday.

Lol. i wasnt meaning id be off work for 2 months just a week yeah but thats a quarter of my salary missing, the 2 loan payment would be about same as id lose thats why i was going to ask this as its last pay before christmas.0
