Which Sat Nav?

In light of recent discount posts for Navman iCN530 (£239) it now brings it down to a similar price to the TomTom One (£204) I was considering purchasing. Anyone care to express a preference - Is the Navman a better product or is the better option going for the 'big name' TomTom with its wider support as customization?

    Garmin i3.

Had tomtom 3 on an PDA linked to a GPS, Worked fine but inconvenient to many wires, and if I had the PPDA (as it had work details on it for me) the satnav was useless for the wife in the car. Worked fine, but not always right, and customer service was slow.

Replaced with a i3 mainly price (it was £130) partly because of size, and partly on garmins reputations, they've made GPS for years and I've had no problem with them before over my standalone gps.

Another vote here for Garmin i3 - mine was £100 from Somerfield.
Speed camera database can be added for £2/month if desired.

Small screen, but that doesn't seem to stop it working effectively.
    Voice prompts are very clear

    No complaints given the price.
Ah! Good old trusty beer... I hope you never change.

PDA with I-GO europe on the supplied 1GB sd card... It can route from one country to another showing if you need to get flights or ferries. Bang up to date (has roads near me tomtom and NAVIGON dont) Also you recieve map updates twice a year when you register. Accuracy is also excellent and maps are brilliant. The 3d map show the sun and moon in thier actual positions in the sky when you drive and it automatically switches from day to night views at dawn and sunset.

I am also considering the Navman 530 but I want to use it for travelling in western europe. How exactly do the european maps on cd work?
What would anyone recommend as the cheapest option for european mapping on sat nav. Please be gentle with me as I'm not very well up on terminology  (eg what is a PDA as mentioned earlier in the thread?) Can you add european maps to all basic models or not?
    Thanks all

Kenwood DV3200 no contest. It's pricey but you get what you pay for.

thanks for the replies so far...

shopaholic - pda stands for personal data assistant - think hand held PC

The Garmin i3 good as some reports are, I was put off by the small screen. The 530 and One were the ones I picked out as they have the easier to read 3.5" screen....anyhoo roll on with the suggestions... Just to add to things, Makro have just got in the Medion GoPal 350 at £199 + vat. It already has TMC built in (£40/year + an option module from TomTom) and comes with Navigon Navigator 5.1 Software. Anyone have any experience of this one??
