Boden code warning

Unaware it was an 'only use once code', I had my order confirmed by email at the discounted price. However, was surprised that Boden had charged me the full amount when the item was dispatched. If I'd known, I wouldn't have placed the order. Unfortunately, as tailoring was made, can't return the item. If I saw an item that was mispriced in a shop, I would be within my rights to buy the item at the displayed price. So where do I stand?

They have done this to me before. I rang my credit card company and they said that they cannot do this without telling you first. They said they would take it up on my behalf if Boden would not refund the overcharge.

I called Boden and told them they had not notified me of the higher amount therefore they could not suddenly charge my card without permission.

They refunded me.

I just said I would not use that particular code again. I have used the £10 off a £30 spend though about 6 times with no problem recently though.

Thanks Bootman, you confirmed my gut feeling. I didn't understand how they could charge me more after the order had been accepted and confirmed. Boden said they would investigate when I phoned but emailed to say no refund. However I will take this up with my credit card company as you suggest. The code I used was a £10 off £30 spend too.
