I got one last year after reading about it somewhere on this forum (sorry I don't know where the thread is) I find my washing can smell a bit mouldy in the winter as it doesn't dry fast enough on the clothes horse and this has solved the problem.

I think its great - it does get stuff dry but takes a couple of hours, I normally put it on overnight on the timer. If its quite full or you put in thick clothing it might need an extra hour or so. My OHs work shirts don't need ironing when they've been in the DriBuddi :) Be careful not to overload it, I managed to break one of the arms last year putting on heavy wet jeans. JML replaced the whole top section for £4.95 inc P&P.

Its not that noisy and makes the room nice and warm and smell of clean washing. I don't think its any substitute for a tumble dryer but I havent got space for one of those and this is the next best thing. I still have to use the clothes horse for sheets, towels etc. I didn't notice any major increase on my electricity bill which I probably would with a tumble dryer.

If there's space in it I sometimes pop my PJs in to warm them up before bed :)

We had one it only lasted about 14 mths! we did use it all the time though, but even so don't think that was very good.

Ours wasn't that quiet in my opinion (deffo not 'whisper quiet',which is what I think they stated) could hear it in the next bedroom and lounge under the room it was in!

Huge word of warning if you intend to use it alot be aware Whenever it is on you need to have the window open some-what,as we didn't on wet/really cold days over the winter and to our dismay on clearing out the fitted cupboards in the room we had it in,found mould at the back of them and in the corner of the room! (hidden by 'stuff'as it was a bit of a storage room)

We never had a problem before with mould and haven't since (hence we didn't replace the dri-buddy).

The top of the cover to it has a hole in that all the hot air escapes from,in hindsite all that hot air and no-where to go! (isn't hindsite great!)

We have had a tumble dryer before and the dri buddy took approx double the time to dry items, and you have to turn items sometimes or they don't dry properly.

Also you need to buy clothes hangers to use in it,and these do warp over time, and you can't over load it or they easily 'knock off' and again clothes don't dry well.Bit of a pain really.

Saying all that it does do 'its job',but personnally would only purchase if using occasionally.

Oh and think about where you'll put it as it does take up a bit of room, and to make life easier to use,its best if you can get all around it.(if you know what I mean)

  • Hi huys i'm of the same opinion as ilovemykids it's not that efficient. unless you want to use it as extra hanging space for your stuff to dry if you have a few loads on the go. it's just a huge blow dryer and quite noisy and has a peculiar smell to it which i assume is the cover thing being heated up. I would only turn it on if there is a back ip of washing that needs to be dried...but not quickly either. it says 18 items (i think) but in 2 hours you can only dry about 10 and even then only if they've been spun practically dry.

I'm surprised...it works wonderfully for me but I guess it wouldn't be for everyone.
  • I have recently purchased a Dri Buddy, I am having problems drying towels,
can someone please advise me on what settings I need,
the towels either come out rock hard or still damp.
all help and advice gratefully accepted
