Hi All
I have replied on another thread but thought it may be worth starting a new one for some advice!!
I took out a loan with (I think..) citi financial in 2005 for £7k.
After defaulting on the loan, it was sold to Hillsden Securities.
With interest etc, the final settlement was nearly £13k.
In 2007, Hillsden lodged a CCJ against me, and in 2008 I cleared the outstanding debt, though the ccj is still marked as unsatisfied and £13k outstanding as rthe default balance.
My questions are:
On my credit file (exifax only), it shows the debt as belonging to Hillsden. My credit file shows a default for April 2006, and then satisfied in May 2006 - I'm assuming that this is when the debt was transferred to Hillsden, as the debt wasn't satisfied till 2008?
As i have paid the debt, how do I go about getting the CCJ marked as satisfied, I don't have any of the original loan details as I have split with my wife and she no longer has any of the original paperwork?
After reading some of theposts concerning the selling of debt to companies such as Hillsden pre 2007 - am I able to claim the money back and get the ccj removed?
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Many Thanks
