Hi guys
Quick question. Can a bank legitimately set off a debt from a limited company bank account (which is a joint account) by taking from a personal current account (in one of the account holder's names)
Thats what Barclays are threatening to do.

if you're down as a guarantor, then yes. not sure about if you're not a guarantor, but i would hesitantly say noLeft to Pay/Originally Owed

i would have to side with bikerboi on this that unless you PERSONALLY guaranteed the limited company then dont think they can chase you personally for the debt. That is oneof the reasons for setting up a limited company the company has the liabilty not you personally.
Am sure the more knoweldgeable posters will be along to give a definite answer!Proud to be dealing with my debts :j:j
