Maybe, but that still leaves it £1 out. I guess if I wait a few days it'll sort itself out.

Just looking at all the companies now, there's loads I use regularly, I'm kicking myself for not joining ages ago. I don't think I'll ever buy anything in a store again!

Also just been looking at the pink pocket ereader, I want so much! Might see if dad'll contibute towards one for exmas and birthday, with cashback, waterstones points and the waterstones offer I wouldn't need to put loads towards it.

No, I've bought three or four things (one of the orders is on hold because one of the books is out of stock) and none of them were for that amount.

Linda, I kinda feel for the guy - I was in with my sister once and we were getting our shopping in one lot and they wouldn't let us put 6 things in (limit was 3 per person), so sister had to go hold up another till just to buy thee cartons of juice. Annoyingly it was 3 per person too, not per transaction! Mum says they often get shopowners coming in first thing and going through several times to get the offers, if the bloke wasn't bright enough to do that I doubt he can actually write a letter to head office...

The ebooks can be quite pricey tho Ames.....I know my FIL brought himself one but hasn't used it as much as he thought he would.

I know, if he'd just kept quiet he could have taken his 6 out and come back in, gone to a different till with another 6 and no-one would have been any the wiser.

Pooky, they are dear, but they've come down a lot over the last year, they're about the same as an ipod now and I'm sure I'd use it more than I do my ipod. It's gotta be easier to use one of those to read war and peace than holding the damn book! There's £20 off at Waterstones, plus 3% cashback, plus I've got waterstones points. Although they'll probably come down even more by next year.

Ooops, didn't read your message properly!

I've just seen an offer for 11,000 free ebooks on the freebies board, with a wide choice, and classics are all free or very cheap (a couple of quid for hundreds). The price of the books, limited choice, and not being able to resell them has always put me off, but it seems to be improving a lot.

Be warned on ebooks - you are stuck with buying them from the person who makes the ebook :eek: (like ipods and itunes)

And those books are cheap because they are out of copyright - if you wait a few months they may well be available for free from Google books (they are currently scanning every book!)

Edit: I really want one too but I object to having to buy from one source!

I didn't realise that, I thought I could buy them from ebay or wherever and use them on the ereader, thanks for the warning, I don't think I'll bother! I knew that the free ones would be out of copyright, I like old books anyway. Ah well, maybe in a few years it'll be better.
