Had a crap day today, some of you will remember me turning down a place for LO in school Nursery in September well I've found out today she hasn't got a place in January like I wanted AND as a result it now looks like my children will be in different schools next September unless I'm willing to fight to get LO in the school I want her to go to.

Had a really rubbish weekend, DH's Grandma had another fall so ambulance out to her again but she's still refusing to go back into hospital. I was really ill Thursday night & am still not 100%, DD really playing up at the moment which I'm struggling to deal with, STILL got a leaking roof, boiler stopped working Thursday evening, damp patches appearing all over the ceilings upstairs.

What else can go wrong????

PMS sounds like a really bad time for you xxxxx Sorry your LO didn't get into Nursery - I remember you saying about this before and was really hoping you'd get good news. I hope you can get her into the same school come September. Hope your DH's grandma sees sense without too much prodding and gets herself sorted, and I really hope your boiler can be fixed quickly and at low cost. Really praying things start to look up for you very very soon xxxxxxx

Thanks Z, in the grand scheme of things my problems are trivial but sometimes I do wonder how much more can I take.

Still less than 4 weeks til xmas and then only 12 weeks til Florida (hopefully!!!!)

Hi all, just wondered if you guys/girls un-subscribe to newsletters more or less immediately or wait until you know the comp is over?

Wondered if I un-subscribe to them all I will lose my entries.

Hi all,

Hope all is good on this soggy Monday night!

Just had a quick question, wasn't sure whereabouts to post it though - I'm visiting family (in the UK still) for 3 weeks over Xmas, therefore I won't be at my home address. And after I've been furiously comping for the last few weeks, I worry that I might have a few things arrive on my doorstep - I know you can get post re-directed which I will probably do, but will this mean any comp wins I get will be re-directed too? Or will they just turn up, as some are not necessarily sent by Royal Mail? I won a Cranium game last week and that turned up mid-afternoon on a weekday. Do prizes generally come with the regular post?

I've learnt to realise very recently that problems feel massive when they are happening to you personally and it can easily feel like there is no way out but there is. Now I'm not very good at practising what I've learnt yet but I'm getting there lol! I really really hope things start to turn around. First on the list is for you to get 100% better... I hope that happens quickly xxx

Yes 4 weeks til Christmas, 12 weeks to Florida - well I can agree with the first one but am sooooo jealous of the second!!

It really depends on the terms of the competition. If entry is by signing up for a email newsletter then generally you have to be signed up on the day the prize draw is made to be eligible.

If you have a look at the comping guide which is a sticky on the first page that has some tips I think.

Timing depends on delivery method - some items will come by posties on foot, others in a van. Remember though the redirection thing will only work for Royal Mail, not courier delivery.

I think if you ask this in the competitions discussion thread you may get some more helpful suggestions.
