After deciding that we couldn't afford for him to keep on smoking, at the beginning of December, my dh decided that he would give up cigarettes :T:j. Yay!!! Result!!!! Or so I thought, with visions of the credit card amount dwindling to nothing with all the money we would be saving.


He is 8 weeks smoke free today :jand 2 weeks ago he decided that with all the money we are now saving (about £150/month) he would get himself a little project .... a hobby..... to take his mind of his craving .

What a good plan, I thought, give him something to focus on, something to strive towards.

Saturday morning we took delivery of his new project, his hobby ....... a knackered old series 2 Land Rover :rolleyes:. It cost 10 times more than we're saving per month and needs restoring (which he can do himself) ..... boys and their toys!

Think of the health benefits, Reet!
No more smokey smelling clothes, hair, kisses!

<sigh> men! I thought they were supposed to be the logical sex!

BTW I am very, very proud of him because he stopped on his own without any assistance - long may it continue.

Gwendoline, u must come back and comp, had a really nice month in december, Jan was a tad slow with a few littler wins but now its kicked in,and i've had a few biggies, Missed u loads, woks is doing something in her nightie with meter man??!?!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:xxx

really shouldnt be here, should be getting dressed and getting little woks dressed.
DD felt ill this morning and hasnt slept for 2 nights and felt all achy and ill but went to school cos shehas her btec work to do, luckily she walked out the door and the bus stopped for her saved her walking to the bus stop, dont know if i'm sending little woks to school he hasnt stopped coughingthen again maybe i am sending him, he just asked to go on the wii.

Morning all.

Another day at work... still bring on Friday afternoon and a week off!

Driven myself in again today and it's really really foggy and I hate it. I lose my depth perception and feel quite disoriented. Anyway, I'm here and ok. Allister has his first Masters exam this morning - 10am - so lots of positive thoughts to him for then please! He's done loads of work for it and I 'tested' him as much as I could yesterday evening using his revision notes, but he's quite nervous about it. Hope he understands the questions and feels ok about his answers.

Well done on your wins Toni. Just a couple of little things for me so far this year. Still hoping for that "big win"... it'll come eventually I'm sure!
