They sure did. Ouch. And this was £429 from Comet last week but gone back up to £580 now - it will be on offer again. Comet also give you generous discount codes and topcashback cashback of 3.5% whereas Amazon don't so worth waiting for?*

PS Funnily enough, the general consensus of user reviews on Comet is VERY positive. Go figure.

      * I calculated that this TV and the very well reviewed Tosh XDE600 upscaling DVD player could be had from Comet last week for a net £467.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the AV series and the RV series? My dad is contemplating one of these but is bogged down with info on them and is overwhelmed with it all.

Just bought the Toshiba Regza 42XV635DB 42-inch off amazon £649

Absolutely cracking telly the only thing I can fault being honest and picky is it takes longer than usual to change from one channel to next.

And read the reviews on amazon Toshiba Regza 42AV635DB they are all good and as to "which" well you cannot please everyone can you!

I have the 32 inch version and agree with the channel switch over timing it is not instantaneous although thought that may have something to do with the freeview rather than the actual tv.
