I was just going to say the same thing. My understanding is that this forum is intolerant of mocking anyone because of their disability - Prime Minister or pauper!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
I'm of the "eat less meat in general but eat meat that has been ethically reared when I do eat meat" brigade.:D
We eat veggie a couple of times a week or have pasta with a rich sauce and a teeny bit of bacon for flavour.
I will only eat FR chicken but don't do it very often due to the price and I stretch it as far as is humanly possible. Always, always have FR eggs and only British meat and FR pork when possible.
When times have been really tight here I have opted to eat no meat at all rather than eat an animal that has suffered before slaughter but that is my choice and I'm not here to judge anyone whose opinions differ.
.......Nor am I here to discuss in a disparaging way, anyone's disability, Stephen.0 -
I buy organic vegetables and milk / milk products and prefer, but don't always, buy organic meat. I do, however buy ethically reared meat and never buy the cheap chickens or caged hen eggs. I believe that you can taste the difference in meat that's intensively reared and I don't like the idea that the stress hormones that are released by stressed and 'unhappy' animals into my food.
We eat less meat and cheaper cuts in order to fund this.0 -

True, but it's not a very pleasant situation to be in.
I couldn't remember how to spell his name correctly.
(Alcohol - and that was cheap, too - has been consumed.)The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Sorry, I don't know this but are free range animals not killed in normal abattoirs with other animals?0 -

It can't be all bad if the Government's bean counting leaves you enough to buy alcohol. Maybe you can delete the post when the alcohol wears off?

Not all of us like these cuts, but its great that some do, as it is ethical to make the most of it.

Personally - one of the reasons I dont eat meat is because I cant afford it - as I take the viewpoint that "meat is happy meat and if one cant afford that - then one cant afford meat at all".
I dont actually see whats the big deal about being so insistent on eating meat that one would rather eat "unhappy meat" than do without
One can eat perfectly adequately and interestingly without meat. I never even think about it anymore and dont miss it in the slightest and I must be getting something right somewhere on getting in all my health requirements from a vegetarian diet - as I still get strangers being surprised at being told my age (because I look younger than that:D). Truth to tell - I'd have to think twice to tell you whereabouts supermarkets keep their meat or as to whether there are still any butchers in my area - it simply doesnt occur to me. In the events I attend I am surprised if any of the food at a buffet meal includes meat - its very rare for it to do so. I'm just not bothered about it in the slightest.0
