Hi,
I work in office 7 h. of my day, 1 h. commuting from and to work..I believe like most of us.I noticed that my skin is dull and looks tired, so I always have to use a lot of make up to freshen my look a least a bit. Lately I see that the situation is not improving, but only getting worse. I am naturally pale, but I dont look healthy anymore. skin is not glowing and I am so upset. Have to idea how to restore the radiance. I dont smoke, but do drink alot of coffee and moderate quantities of wine and.. yeah.. had very stressfull year...

Dont use lots of make up, try mineral make up, even a small amount has good coverage.
Drink lots of water and i mean lots, every day, cut down the coffee dramatically and what is your definition of moderate amounts of wine.
You are what you eat is definitely true.
Take a photo of you now with no make up, try all the above for 2 weeks
and take another photo.
And relax ......................make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Great advice from McKneff, my dd swears by smoothies to fix dull skin:) My own tricks are regular gentle exfoliating with gloves, no sugar (not that easy but so worth it) and as a quick fix Estee Lauder Spotlight under foundation - hth:) oh and talking of foundation I would recommend Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

A Tuesday lunchtime wander through the make up counters should get you a bunch of samples from a nice sales girl. I'd think about an exfoliator or face mask first and see if that lifts your skin tone. A warm flannel over your face and gentle massage, sweeping away from the sinuses to remove the product should also give you a bit more of a glow, even if only temporary.
Make sure you're not anaemic, too, and try modifying your habits - have a small glass of chilled water while you are waiting for the kettle to boil, as sometimes you could find that you don't actually need the coffee (and sometimes you do, but it won't hurt to drink the water anyhow). Put a carton of fruit juice and a bottle of water in the fridge next to the milk, so next time, if you can't face water, you can have juice first.
Try it for 5 days and then check on your skin again. It should start having an effect, but as McKneff says, four weeks is the time when a full comparison should be obvious.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
The OCM thread on here might be of use too:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I've been doing a few things to make my skin more radiant as it has been looking dull recently. I've definitely seen an improvement.
I've started taking Omega3/6 supplements and started doing regular face masks again (I'm using Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel which isn't cheap unfortunately but it's SO good!). I also find that Body Shop mineral foundation gives a really nice natural coverage and a healthy glow.
If anyone knows of any other really good, cheaper face masks please feel free to suggest!
I've got oily skin with dry patches around my mouth by the way. What's your skin type?0 -
Oils in natural or supplement form e.g. the omegas, cod liver, linseed etc.
Exercise. Even just dancing around the living room. It will boost your circulation and make your skin glow.
Plenty of sleep.
Open windows whenever you can, esp at work. And breathe deeply! This will get oxygen flowing around your body.
Try to cut down on caffeine, alcohol, sugar and give up smoking (if you smoke). Edit: sorry, just reread your post.
Use an SPF every single day.
Use a brightening face mask every now and again to take off dead cells.
But the most important...
Water, water, water. Drink lots of it every single day!

This one is great, pricey but very effective:

This is a cheaper alternative that I have tried and liked:
http://www.superdrug.com/Cleanser/GRACE-YOUR-FACE-PREDATE-BRIGHTENING-MASK/invt/503703
I also love this (it's like a cheap version of Beauty Flash Balm) and it's only £1.84 with one of the skinnies from Boots!

But you should exfoliate and/or use a clay mask as well, and try something with fruit enzymes/alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to get rid of dull dead skin cells. I am currently using Molton Brown papain exfoliator but only cos I got it with one of the Red £10 off vouchers a couple of weeks ago, it's £18. What's your budget like?
Also, have you heard of the oil cleansing method?Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I've heard of OCM, but havent tried yet. I know it is great for skin, but never thought it could help with my problem.
My budget is not very tight, but desirable range for scrubs and masks is up to £10, if it is really something miraculous can stretch to 200
