Using Somerfield Coupons in Tesco and Asda???

I've picked up the May issue of Somerfield's magazine.
Does anybody know if I can use the money off coupons in Tesco or Asda?
I think I've read on here somewhere that Tesco will take them but what about Asda?

If it is the May edition then I assume the coupons were only valid up to the end of May. Some Asda and Tesco stores will accept coupons in date if they have the NCH (national coupon handling) code on them. It is really a case of try it and see.Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0

Neither Tesco nor Asda round here will take Somerfield coupons. They used to but stopped a while ago (in fact Asda no longer takes any other store's coupons at all). Best thing to do is phone customer service at your local store and ask what their policy is. Or just include a few in with normal product coupons, and just ask the till operator to scan them and see which ones they can accept.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

If you have a self scan checkout then it will be 'less fussy' over the coupons.:)
In my experience the checkout operators (not all - but certainly a high percentage) have not been given full details of what the store policy on acceptance of coupons is and as a result they have to make a judgement which is not based on knowledge.
The self scanners have a set of rules for coupons and will either accept an individual coupon or not. Computers are great.Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -
ahhhh - just notived that they are indeed, out of date! I will look out for the next issue though.
My Asda does take Internet coupons, so I will try any I get in June there....
I'll also phone to ask their policy beforehand too for future use.

unless you're unlucky and your supermarket has cracked down and won't let any coupons through the self scanners

Me too, but only in a large Tesco that has young lads who will scan anything with a barcode without scrutinising it! Just avoid female cashiers and smaller branches (or branches that have a strict 1 voucher policy - they are normally quite hot on checking the one coupon you dare to hand over!).
On the plus side, Tesco accept Sainsbury's spend&save vouchers (£x off £xx spend). Plenty around on ebay last week, I purchased some and have used several at a time - just make sure you spend the minimum amount and be ready to say 'they are my Mums/partner's/neighbour's dog's coupons' (or whatever) if cashier is awake enough to notice the multiple surnames...;)PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
