Making a childs bean bag?

Hi, I'm thinking of making my DGS a bean bag for Christmas. Has anyone done one, and was it easy? I can sew so I don't think it will be too hard, but not sure if it would be moneysaving - what do you think?

I'm assuming the beans will be easy to come by (and up to current fire safety standards) and that I can use some nice cheerful material - so what can go wrong:confused:

Reason I'm asking is that many moons ago, my DDs had one, (one bought, one HM) and my memory of them was that they couldn't be cleaned properly, and unfortunately, one split when 'bounced' on (not to be recommended as the beans went everywhere and I was cleaning them up for years  LOL)

Any thoughts on this will be very welcome.

Thanks, M

You would need to have the polystyrene beans in an inner bag, which should eliminate the 'bursting all over the place' problem - and the outer cover could be removed for washing.

I have seen bags of these beans on sale in Wilkinson, but you would probably need a few of the bags depending on the size you want to make.

I must admit I've thought of making one for my eldest DD, but I'm a big procrastinator :rotfl:
