YiPeE! We've been invited to a summer wedding! So exciting. We have to travel to Surrey but could do with a couple of nights in a hotel. I need a new dress.. oh, I need to lose weight too but that's just a minor (!) problem!

Beth, Hi my lovely x
nm. I guess you're going through the grieving process one way or another. And knowing from experience that once that process is over and done with, so to speak, then you can find the strength, the willpower to motivate yourself into moving on. I wonder whether it's worth asking yourself what part of the process your dealing with now.. shock and searching, anger or depression and then resolution. Maybe by sussing out where your at with dealing what has happened you can take strength from knowing this is a natural process and what your going through is what your mind is doing to help you get over it. Nothing you can do about it but it will help you in the long run.
I hate soap boxes but I'm going to step on one right now. What ever I say is meant to help you not criticise or patronise, something dear to my heart as my mam drank a lot to block out and to try to get some sleep when she was hurting. This is something you can help yourself with - the sleep part of it. I know that drinking alcohol will help you drop off to sleep but it's also a b*ggar for waking you up mid sleep pattern, resulting in a very tired you which snowballs into tired depression. Your poor little head is surrounded by thoughts and worries, anxieties even, all cause by what is going on - that in itself isn't going to help with the sleeping, alcohol will just make it so much worse. Bannish the bottle nm eh?

You know the score, you know you're going to get through this, you know what is important and you know that your not going to let yourself be down forever BUT right now you need to be 'down' because in the long run it will help you get over it.
You will laugh, have fun and enjoy life, just not yet, life has kicked again but you will move on and the pain will subside somewhat.
Take care, look after yourself x0
