Hi there
I am wondering if anyone could give me any ideas of what to include in a little DIY gift set for children, I was thinking of getting a little terracotta pot & some seeds but after that I am drawing a blank other than wrapping it all in some pretty ribbon or cellophane
I would like it to contain a bit more than that though  so any ideas would be welcomed
thank you very much
BJB..... by the way the age ranges are 2-12yrs!!

Books? Toddler ones could have a flower theme and older ones could have a more grown up flower dictionary etc? Aprons/pinny to protect clothes especially for little ones could be good when painting etc too! Smaller watering can, and gloves. Doubt there's any left now but know adsa were running kiddie gardening packs in summer but must be something somewhere try ebay? Older ones could get fat balls etc for birds in winter etc

Home Bargains did have lots of bit and bobs in that would be suitable.
Some good ideas from ab7. How about some chocolate or gummy bugs as well?0 -
Hi boredjellybean.
I did some christening gifts, I wanted something different so made a nappy cake for the baby and 2 little gift sets for the 2 girls (one aged 6 and other aged 3) The girls loved them! There are pictures here on my blog
There is a towel, a plastic plant pot (which could be changed to terracotta) some clothes, some little gardening gloves, a cup, a little chalkboard, a little grow your own sunflower kit, a whirly windmill and some stickers to decorate their plantpot with! Total came to just under £10 each which although isn't a lot could be worth a lot more as I got things on offers and at reasonable prices. I have since made up a couple more which were orders from people and one woman paid me £25 for it even though I only wanted £15Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

A tree to plant (doesn't have to be big or full grown - could be more or less a twig - something like a holly or a beech to go at the end of a hedge even) and then some daffodil bulbs to go in at the same time - they get something that comes up satisfyingly quicky with the daffs, and something to be amazed about in later years, with the tree...Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

wellies? also most garden centres sell child size gardening gloves.
There is a really good selction of seeds for kids about but may be worth choosing at least some which can be done now (eg indoor herb kit , sensetive plants, cress etc).
a small hand trowel and or fork is essential equiptment plus big lables (easy to write on), dibber and cutsey watering can (I have a smiley elephant, try wilkos).0 -
how about some fun handwash for cleaning up dirty hands when they come in?
little markers with chalk so they know which plant is which.....
how about little paint your own garden gnomes? i know theyre not plant related but its still making the garden a fun space.....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
These soft blocks are fun to play with individually, or your baby can stack them to create a little barn. Of course, half the fun for babies at this age is knocking the barn over again.0
