debt management warning

 Hope this is in right place. Before I found this thread I started a debt management programme as just couldn't keep borrowing money from one place to pay off another. One of the debts is a cc with nationwide, well I opened a saving account with them in december to put money into that I was being given for my baby to buy things ready, was due december 05 I couldn't open an account for a unborn baby, all money for my baby before & after birth went into that account and once he was born never got round to taking birth certifcate in to add name on stupid you may think, today went to put £10 in from his money box only to find the account had been emptied to go towards cc, I am gutted and I've phoned but they said I could just be saying that, but as I said if I had money around I'd not be struggling with bills etc.
So money gone through a silly mistake. I do understand I owe them money and they saw money in an account I have so took it.
I don't want other ppl to find this out the hard way.

Sorry to hear of your problems :grouphug: but don't beat yourself up too much about not adding your babies name to the account. I think they could take the money anyway as it is clearly you who were operating the account.
You should make a formal complaint using the banks internal procedure (remember to send everything recorded delivery) because you have nothing to lose, but don't expect to see any of the money. If you do it will be a nice surprise for you.
Thanks for passing this on to us all.

This is really awful for you. The first thing we think of when we have kids is how we can help to secure a good start for them in life. I really feel for you.

Thanks for the warning, and like xbigman says, I would write to complain. You don't get anything unless you ask.

    ((((hugs)))) to you.

Thanks for the advice. This site has been a real eye opener there are so many ppl in simular situations.I wish we had things easier but my child will never go without even if it means me not getting things I need as one day things will improve.
