Does anyone have any knowledge of this particular Santa 'experience'?

It seems to be quite cheap in comparison with other similar garden centre type places. I was complaining to OH about the price of these things, then when I found this one that was cheaper than the others, I immediately complained that it couldn't be much good! :D

I'm assuming that this isn't the first year they have done the Santa thing, although I may be wrong?

Thanks

nah Hillside has been going for years, we usually go to see Santa arrive on the fire engine, let the wee man see Santa, get in the engine etc then we go home never bother paying to get a pressie, I have seen the grotto its usually good if its cheaper than the others I would go for it, we went to one last year near the Templepatrick roundabout and it was rubbish and it was for charity!

some of these places remind me of Grottos that would appear on Craggy Island!

I go every year, sometimes Santa isn't there so phone b4 hand to make sure you get him.
It is an amazing set up, loads of stuff to look around, and the food in the cafe is beautiful!
Your kids will love just looking around at everything (even without seeing Santa) as mine did last year as Santa wasn't there at the time we went, BUT we saw Santa at the Christmas MArket in Belfast at I think it was only £3 or something really cheap and we took the photos with our mobiles!!!
    Have fun x

  • I believe Hillside and several other businesses are operating a scam as Santa can't be at more than one place at a time.

  • Hi!
I actually volunteered for this a couple of years ago! Everybody that is there is a volunteer, from santa to the person at the till. It is for childrens cancer fund! Before you get to santa there are moving christmas displays. The kids get there photo taken by polaroid camera and they get colouring in books! I would recommend it for younger kids!

awww....don't you know that he sends his special representatives? He gives them permission to meet the children on his behalf. As long as Santa himself approves it beforehand, its all above board!

we brought our daughter to this last year. The grotta is fantastic, although the queues were very long, had to wait ages! I was disappointed with the photo given the fee we paid to see Santa; the polaroid is tiny, she can hardly be seen (was only 11 months at the time) but I have since learnt that they raise about £40k a year for the Children's Hospice so I don't mind paying extra at all, and will probably go there again this year.
