Direct Line taken too much....
Last month (12/10/09) my 5 year loan to Direct Line was finally finished so you could imagine my suprise when on Friday evening checked my balance to find they had taken another payment (£195), spoken to them this morning and they have confirmed it was there fault however I have to wait 10 working days before they can put it back in my account!
Am I entitled to any compensation? I'm sure if I owed them the money I wouldn't get 10 working days to pay it!

What losses have you suffered that you require compensation for?
If you have incurred bank charges or charges for other direct debits not being paid then I think you could ask for these to be covered by Direct Line.
Make sure the direct debit is now cancelled so they cannot take any more money.

If you pay by direct debit then this scenario is covered by the D/D indemnity scheme - the refund would be back in your account within 24 hours.
Of course if Direct Line then also refunds you - you will have to pay one amount back.0
