Peetxil39 - Here's something to think about. 3DHD TV's are comming out in 6 months time, these will instantly make all HD TV's outdated and they won't be much more expensive than a regulare HDTV. Unless you've got loads of cash to splash out there's no point buying emerging technology until 6 months to a year after relise (to let other people work out the kinks before you jump on the wagon) Therefore you shouldn't bother buying a new TV for 12 to 18 months... So instead of running out and buying something that will be outdated very quickly save up a little for a year and buy something that will be relevant for much longer. Not quite the same as telling you you don't need a new TV but you know it makes sense :)
  • still here and plodding along. keeping my sig updated to keep me motivated, still under target but having paid off just over £2k in 3 months is not so bad.

keep up the good work everyone!!

Thanks guys, good point Amatheya hadn't thought of that! I am trying, and my other half is against the idea of a new tv, so that's helping :p Going to go back and read one of Martin's books again, see if I can re-inspire myself, fingers crossed! My month ends tomorrow, so will log on then and update my totals.

Hello everyone, hope everyone's having a good day so far.

Payday today...........yayyyy! I'd like to update my totals please. I've paid another £712.72 which brings my total up to £2,527.44 so far. It wasn't as much as I'd hoped, but still a good sum. Day off today so I've been looking for things to ebay. I'm feeling quite ashamed of myself actually because I came across loads of stuff I'd totally forgotten about..........which means of course, that I never really needed them in the first place!!

Take care everyone and keep up the good work x

Congratulations - that is a fantastic achievement and I'm really pleased for you.

I can't quite believe I am writing this (and I assure you I'm not trying to do any kind of "oneupmanship" Banwa :o) but I have just paid £3,000 off my Halifax credit card. A lot of this came from a previous landlord paying up who I had taken to court for not returning my deposit (I've wittered on about this in my DFW diary if anyone is interested in the story), but I also got an unexpected bonus at work this week. All things being well I'll also be in the 13 thousands at the end of March. :j

Right, that's it, the fight is on....:rotfl:

Overall debt hasn't come down by much, BUT we have now transferred £6000 from new virgin credit cards to pay the horrible overdrafts off - 0% until July 2011. This was recommended by Martin in the 'super balance transfer' article. It cost us £260 to do this but that is less than 3 months overdraft charges so will definitely pay off. Really delighted as this now means everything apart from the 2 car loans (£1000 left on each) are now at 0%. :j. We can make some real inroads into it now.

Happy budgeting everyone, hope we all have another good month :T
