Health and safety courses.

Hi. I have trawled the web for more information as to Health and Safety courses. There are many courses available throughout the country and all have their different prices. Has anyone been on one of these courses and if so which one would be the best to get employment. I have no experience of Health and Safety but only what I have endured whilst working as a plasterer for the past thirty six years. I did have an accident at work which has left me with a knee disability where I can no longer do my job as a plasterer.

So you want a job in H&S in construction?
Nebosh or IOSH are the usual ones. Try finding a local construction training group who do the course for their members; they usually will give you a spare place much cheaper than if you go to the companies themselves, or the CITB.0 -
NEBOSH is a hardish course to do but is the industry standard. Check the pass-rate of the training provider.0

Try your local college for Nebosh Certificate. But I'm afraid this wont guarantee you a job. The H & S industry is very clique and companies seem to train up people from inside and only recruit externally only at management level. i.e Chartered Member of IOSH and lots of experience0
