Is this normal?

So its been 7 weeks now since the LO was granted (28th sept) and all thats happened so far is the bailiff sent a letter on the 3rd of november and has had no reply from my ex, so then on the 9th i called the csa and was told they had instructed the bailiff to pay a visit, a week later theres been no visit, is this normal? does it normally take this long or should i be on the phone insisting they get a move on and do something?

    I wouldn't go calling them and tell them 'to get a move on'......you want them on your side, and not put you to the bottom of the collections list!

    I would think that the court bailiffs are rather busy these days, and it's taking them some time to get around to all the visits they have piling up before them. A simple call stating very nicely that you're wondering if there is a time frame for when a visit might take place might be okay, but I would certainly be very polite, very friendly, and maybe add in that you really appreciate their help and that because of their help your children migh be able to have a Christmas.....or some such thing.

    You can try it but in my experience it really wont do you any good apart from get you annoyed, bitter etc;
    When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

    Bit late for that.

    Been told the bailiff has it for 60 days. is that 60 working days? the guy at the csa did say that if they dont seem to be getting anywhere he can get them to send it back early.

    60 calendar days afaik.

    He can avoid coming to an agreement with the bailiff if he is so minded.

    The csa will then have to begin their next course of action, which inevitably will take more time and the courts may become involved again.
