Pay delayed

Options
How long is reasonable to wait for pay from a PAYE employer? I work for them on an ad-hoc basis, so it's not a regular wage.

I did some work in April and was due to recieve £400 on May 31st. When I checked my online banking, I noticed the money hadn't gone in, so I called to query it. I was told there would be a short delay due to processing P60's so they were late with the payroll. I was told they were hoping the money would be in by the weekend.

I checked the bank again this morning and there was still no sign of the money. I contacted the company again, who said they were looking into it and they'd get back to me later today. They haven't.

I'm cheesed off as I was depending on the money to live on. My monthly budget is already short due to a tax credit problem (haven't had money off them either!), so I'm really skint now!

What should I do?
Here I go again on my own....

    Hi
If you have been given a date then 2 or 3 days. If you want to get stroppy tell them you are claimimg for an unauthorised deduction from wages, but you probably wouldn't get any more work off them.
